only 58% of americans have a job right now. in the dc area, about 38% of them are employed by federal, state, and local governments. think about that.

no one in my household has a regular full-time job. that is by choice. we are getting by. slightly below comfortable, but we, like so many others, we are making do month to month.  i'm sharing the following article. it's very enlightening...

a legitimate government would print its own money and put it into circulation for its citizens to use as a means of exchange. there would be no interest, no debt. very simple.

the only solution is to abolish the federal reserve system. we can not wait for our so-called elected leaders to do it. they are puppets for their masters. it's up to the people. the people have always had the power. but the people have to first come out of their distracted, dumbed-down, drugged-up, lemming-like state. wake up!

i read an article last week that said most people today won't even check out your music unless they like your social media persona (facebook posts, tweets, etc.). i'm the opposite. if i like what you are doing musically, then i want to get to know you. i don't care if you're even on facebook or twitter. i'll find whatever i can find about you online, buy your music, or come see you live if you're close enough.

but then, i'm a musician. for me, it's about the music.

this is a collection of photographs i ran across recently. it's a woman historian's blog about american women in the 19th century. i've always been fascinated by this period in the not-so-distant past. this is the world that my grand-mothers/fathers were born into. these particular photos feature african american women. i found the photos incredibly powerful and wanted to share. there is a strength and pride in these faces. real people making their way in a harsh world.

the cia asset osama bin laden, aka tim osman, was killed yesterday, according to the media. but, wait, according to previous reports, he died almost ten years ago. so, we are to believe that the elusive, cia-trained terrorist leader was brought back from the dead, murdered, and immediately "buried at sea?" come on!
